5-15:
Bus purchased: an RTS Series 06.
Engine and tranny has under 50K on the rebuild, everything looks great, some bugs to be worked out and maintenance to be performed.

5-15 - 5-30
Styrofoam cut for bottom of veggie tank
Familiarized self with bus, seats removed, cleaned etc.
Materials purchased for veggie tank project
Curtain fabric cut to proper size

6-01 - 6-15
Travel to Minnesota on Biobus prototype halfway on veggie, experience trouble, rest of the drive is on diesel.
Extensive waste veggie oil filtering research done while in MN, much work done on BioBus prototype diagnosing veggie oil failures.

6-15 - 6-30
More filter research conducted, pump and filter material purchased.
Bus exterior and engine cleaned.

7-01 - 7-15
Air conditioning duct removed from bus, and lights are reinstalled.
First batch of waste veggie oil is gathered.
First test of filtering waste veggie performed.

7-15 - 7-30
Veggie oil tank insulation is cut and glued to tank.
Heat exchanger is laid out on tank.

Water jacketed fuel line is assembled and tested for temp increase of veggie oil.

8-01 - 8-15
Holes are drilled to route coolant and fuel lines to and from the engine and veggie tank (this took much longer and was more difficult than expected).
Filler cap for veggie tank is welded.


8-15 - 8-30 Tank is installed.
Fuel and coolant lines are routed and plumbed into system.
First test drive is performed. (everything works! No problems!!!!!)
Bed is built, belongings are moved into bus to get ready to travel.

9-01 - 11-15?
Test drive to gulf of Mexico is a success. Grease is more of a commodity in Southeast Texas.


12-01 - 5-01
Generated income for summer sustainable energy tour.

5-01 - ?
Currently in Boulder Colorado making further improvments to both buses.
Improvments to Bus 2 include installation of composting toilet.
Installation of shower, sink, and grey water tank.
Installation of improved heat exchanger in veggie oil preheater.
Replacement of rubber hinge strips on all side panels.
Applied rust inhibitor to air supply tanks and parts of frame.
